Krka Tickets: Gates, Bands, the Boat and the Swimming Fine

The Skradin gate is the boat approach: the ticket includes the park boat from the town quay across the ria to the falls area, a crossing of about 25 minutes that runs 1 April - 31 October and is half the pleasure of the visit. Skradin itself is a small river town with paid parking at its edge, cafes on the quay and the patience problem solved by the boat timetable rather than by queueing. The Lozovac gate on the road side drops you at a hilltop entrance with its own ticket building and a shuttle bus down to the falls valley — included in the ticket, same 1 April - 31 October season — or a roughly 20-minute walk down the old path if the shuttle queue is long.

The choice is about the day you want: Skradin turns the visit into a boat-and-town afternoon and pairs naturally with the after-15:00 band; Lozovac is the fast road option from the A1 and the early-morning choice. Upstream localities (Roški slap, Manojlovac slap) sell the same entry ticket but need their own driving or the excursion boat — the park guide covers the upstream logistics.

The park's full entry ticket — sold at the gates and on the official shop — covers the Skradinski buk locality and all accessible land sites, with the Skradin boat and the Lozovac shuttle riding inside it in the 1 April - 31 October season. The boat-only product that appears on booking platforms (and as the park's own short crossing) buys the water approach and nothing more: the crossing to the falls area and back, with the park's land entry priced separately. It exists for cruise-day visitors and time-poor travelers; anyone planning the 1.5-2 hour boardwalk loop needs the full ticket.

Krka ended a bathing tradition that had lasted more than a century when the ban came into force in January 2021. Fines follow the park rulebook, and the enforcement is real: the pools that old guides advertised as swim spots are now the park's best-patrolled ground.

Two practical corollaries. First, tour titles that mention swimming sell a stop outside the park — a beach or a pool on the coast leg — not a dip below the falls; the card's itinerary line states it, and honest operators say so plainly. Second, the lawful substitutes are good ones: the Mrežnica basins an hour north, the Zrmanja pools reached by kayak, and the full graded list on the legal bathing page. The half-day tour products from Split and Zadar remain excellent value as transport-plus-entry — just read the swim line as what it is.

A focused visit runs 2-4 hours, which is why the late ticket still delivers the full loop.

The official shop sells the same day tickets the gates do, and the walk-up model means no sellouts — the honest constraint is the queue at the boat dock in peak weeks, not availability. For a July-August visit, the ranking is: after-15:00 from Skradin, before-10:00 from Lozovac, and midday only in the shoulder months.
