Why this guide exists

Planning a waterfall trip through Croatia looks simple on a map and then the practical questions start: which park bans swimming and which river welcomes it, what a seasonal day pass actually costs in June versus November, whether the boat across the lower lakes is included in the ticket, where you can legally launch a kayak, and which of the famous falls are unreachable without a park entry at all. Croatian park rules shift year to year — Krka banned bathing at its barriers in 2021, Plitvice re-weights its seasonal price bands annually — and most of what ranks in search results repeats rules that are years out of date.

Each admission price, boat or train rule, and access note published here is taken from the official pages of the parks and municipalities themselves, re-checked on a quarterly cycle, and marked with the date it was last confirmed. Where an official body does not publish a figure, our pages say so plainly instead of inventing a plausible number.

Where the verified data comes from

Opening hours, ticket bands, and visiting rules are extracted directly from the official portals of the institutions that run them:

Access advice — which car park serves which entrance, where the first waterfall viewpoint sits, how long the walk really takes — is cross-checked against park maps and on-the-ground traveler reports.

What we do not claim

You will find no invented author persona here — no fictional character claiming to have grown up on the Korana, and no pretense that a member of our team counted the barriers at dawn. We do not operate or personally conduct any of the tours, canyoning trips, or kayak runs listed, and we do not inspect parks or audit operators.

We also handle no direct ticket transactions.
